The gay bear subculture has its own flag designed in 1995 by Craig Byrnes.
The International Bear Brotherhood Flag, also known as the Bear Flag, is designed to represent the bear subculture within the LGBTQ+ community. The colors of the flag - dark brown, orange, golden yellow, tan, white, gray and black - are meant to represent the colors of the furs of bears around the world. While not necessarily referring to human skin color or hair color, the flag was designed with inclusion in mind.
